LATITUDE FESTIVAL

LATITUDE FESTIVAL

SUNDAY fun day

It was the first time I'd been to Latitude Festival, so I didn't quite know what to expect. Although my expectations were high, seeing as it pulled some amazing reviews in 2013, topping festival charts due to its vast variety of musicians and entertainment, I kept an open mind about it.

I was only going for the sunday, but I knew I could still get a good taster of what it was all about.
And OH BOY did I.
The line-up for Sunday consisted of A-class acts such as //
THE BLACK KEYS
TAME IMPALA
HAIM (LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM - If you haven't seen them live, do yourself a favour and buy a ticket to their next gig)
CHRISSIE HYNDE
LYKKE LI
CLEAN BANDIT
AUGUSTINES
GEORGE EZRA
JAMES
TYCHO
MJ COLE
MILKY CHANCE
SEINABO SEY
KEVIN BRIDGES

and the list continues for a good few pages. Seriously, there is something for everyone, seeing as they have stages/tents/areas for:
MUSIC // COMEDY // THEATRE // DANCE // FILM // POETRY // LITERATURE // FUNFAIRS // ART // RELAXATION LOUNGES // SCIENCE // FASHION // CINEMA // ETC ETC.
MUSIC // COMEDY // THEATRE // DANCE // FILM // POETRY // LITERATURE // FUNFAIRS // ART // RELAXATION LOUNGES // SCIENCE // FASHION // CINEMA // ETC ETC.

Its mind boggling and must be an absolute nightmare to sort out, but its great for us! So, gold stars for all the organisers.

Throughout the day there was ALWAYS something to do. You don't have to sit down and wait about for the next thing, seeing as there is ALWAYS something you'll want to go do/see. Which is great... but at the same time it puts you in  the position of making lots of decisions of what to do and who to see with all that choice. For example, I had to decide whether to see the headliners of the evening, The Black Keys, OR go see Lykke Li. BOTH I wanted to see, as I'd not seen either of the acts live before. But, at the end of the day, I went to seeThe Black Keys. My reason? I am seeing Lykke Li later this year, so, fortunately, I get the best of both worlds, which is just lucky. However, not everyone can wriggle out of a decision that easily, hence why I thought I'd point it out. BUT at the end of the day, its not a bad downfall.
ACTS I got to see: The Black Keys, Tame Impala, Chrissie Hynde, The Jayhawks, HAIM, Clean Bandit, George Ezra, Seinabo Sey, D.D Dumbo // Milky Chance was cancelled -sob sob-
There were a few more clashes throughout the day, but I went to my preferred acts.
VERDICT // They were all awesome.

The festival itself is in such an amazing LOCATION. Fields surrounded by woodlands, and a lake located central to it all, on which you can find 'The Waterfront Stage'. It has an amazing atmosphere and summery vibe that everyone enjoys.

FOOD & DRINK // You're spoilt for choice. I went for a Halloumi and chorizo burger with a standard lemonade. Really good stuff. I finished it with some frozen yogurt topped with jelly beans. Also, really good stuff. I think whatever tickles your fancy you'll find.

WEATHER // Luckily, it was good! Looked like a potential thunder storm at the start, but within a few minutes of showering Latitude, it disappeared to annoy someone else in England. It turned into a lovely summery day.

So, end verdict, I was not left disappointed. Actually, I was far from it. I had a great time with friends and family, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of going in the future. Its like no other UK festival out there. You're guaranteed to have a FUN filled weekend.
